A small group of residents of Ingwavuma in deep rural northern KZN met in 2008 and dreamt of a school that would offer excellent education to children growing up in a rural community far away from towns. In 2009, the first Grade R class opened its doors, and the school has grown since then to over 200 learners from Grade RR to Grade 7.
Khethani Christian School focuses on both the excellent academic teaching as well as the building and nurturing of the character of each child so that they can grow into strong, trustworthy adults. We offer daily Biblical devotions in each classroom to help children explore spiritual aspects of life and decide and choose for themselves if they would like to follow Jesus. Khethani stems from the Zulu word to choose (ukukhetha) and offers therefore the freedom of the students to explore and choose their life paths.
The school is open to all parents who would like to give their children a fantastic education in a safe environment and invest in the next generation of our beautiful nation.
The school is a fee-paying independent institution registered with the KZN Department of Education and affiliated with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
